U Visa Psychological Evaluations
Immigrant Victims of Violent Crime

By helping immigrants with unlawful status reduce their legal obstacles through psychological evaluations,
East Bay Area Therapy carries out its mission to help diverse populations reduce distress
and improve their overall mental health and wellness.

 U Visa Psychological Evaluations

The U Visa psychological evaluation assesses the negative effects of a violent crime on one's mental health. Immigrant victims of crime can react to the traumatic experience in a variety of ways and this type of evaluation will define exactly how life has changed since the event occurred.
Skilled and focused U visa mental health assessments documenting psychological symptoms and functional impairments correlated with violent crimes of:

  • Assault with a deadly weapon (firearm via pistol whipping or gunshot, knife, vehicle, makeshift weapons, objects)

  • Domestic violence

  • Witness of a violent crime, including homicide or stabbing

  • Home invasion robbery

  • Armed robbery with pistol whipping

  • Grand theft with hostages

  • Carjacking with and without kidnapping

  • Sexual abuse/sexual assault of children and adults

  • Aggravated assault

  • Stalking

  • Criminal threats of grave bodily harm
